Hello!

Welcome to 2nd Grade at Spring Valley Elementary!  In second grade, it’s all about fluency. We learn to fluently add and subtract numbers within 20 in Math, and practice our phonics skills to fluently read passages in Reading. In Science we learn properties about solids, liquids, and gases, observe rocks, and learn the lifecycles of mealworms and butterflies. In Social Studies, we learn how to be good citizens, how things are made and get to us, and learn how to read maps. Lots of growth happening in second grade, but lots of fun learning too!
