Spring Valley Celebrates Kansas

Kansas celebrated it’s 159th birthday on January 29th. Spring Valley celebrated Kansas on January 31st with a morning packed with special activities! Students participated in six different rotations where they learned about Dwight D. Eisenhower, the life of pioneers, Kansas animals, participated in folk songs and dancing, learned how to rope a steer and they line danced with the “Swingin’ Spurs” from Kansas State University.  In addition to the Spurs, we would like to recognize the Eisenhower Museum, Geary County Historical Society, Kansas State University Rodeo Team and Milford Nature Center.  We finished off our morning of activities with lunch around “campfires” in the gym.

It was a fun-filled morning of learning about the great state of Kansas! The students and staff had a great time. You can check out more pictures on our Spring Valley Elementary Facebook page.
